Prologis Global Day of Service 2017

NEWS RELEASE

Prologis and Habitat for Humanity partner during global day of service
London (19th May, 2017) – Three Prologis employees have joined Habitat for Humanity Homes today as part of the company’s fifth annual day of service, IMPACT Day. They are a working at Charlie Chaplin Adventure playground which is a fun, safe space for local children with impairments and their families. The volunteers will be helping to install roof insulation for the main building area. This contains a soft play area and a large hall which is used for other indoor activities. Installing insulation in the current roof, which leaves the space cold, will provide a warmer and more comfortable space for the children and staff.

“It is really good to be partnering with a world leading firm to help a local charity to serve it’s beneficiaries. We welcome Prologis Staff to this project and thank their employer for their support” Gareth Hepworth, HFH Homes CEO.

Prologis employees will volunteer in more than 20 communities around the world on several Habitat efforts, including neighborhood revitalization and construction. In addition to London Prologis employees will help Habitat in the United States, Japan, Poland, Hungary, Mexico and Canada.

During the company’s IMPACT Day, more than 1,600 Prologis employees will volunteer with more than 60 nonprofits in 60 cities around the world. Globally, Prologis partners with organizations that operate in the company’s focus areas of education, human welfare and the environment on its annual day of service and throughout the year

About Habitat for Humanity GB Homes

HfH Homes is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International which is a global Christian charity devoted to building “simple, decent, and affordable” housing in more than 70 countries World-wide. HfH Homes was founded in 1996 (under the name Southwark Habitat for Humanity) by a group of local people who were concerned about housing in London and were passionate in their belief that communities needed to be active in providing solutions to the housing problems they face.

Our focus is delivering decent affordable homes, involving the local community to bring wider social benefits. Habitat for Humanity Homes (HfH Homes) is a house-building charity based in London and working in Great Britain. We are experienced in managing skilled and unskilled workers and volunteers on construction sites to produce quality outcomes.

We have since grown into a successful charity that has completed over 106 affordable homes in London, Banbury, Liverpool and Eastbourne, with another 18 in development by the end of 2017. In addition to this we carry out a range of community projects which have impacted over 450 people living in supported accommodation in London by improving the environments in which they live.
