Through our corporate volunteering programme here in London, we welcome many of our existing partners across our projects. We particularly love to host new corporate partners who have not yet had the opportunity to experience volunteering on site with our team. They get the chance to meet our charity project partner, and working hard together as a team to help build strength and stability within the community.
Last week our site supervisors Ken and Keith had the pleasure of welcoming a team from Saab Technologies UK Ltd, a company who develops defence and security solutions to keep people and society safe. With a focus on employees acting responsibly, working to reduce the environmental impact of their products and working to play an active role in developing communities and markets they operate in, all social responsibility initiatives and ethics that promote a company who is caring and conscious of the impact they make within the community.
Travelling all the way from Wiltshire to support our Charlie Chaplin Adventure Playground Project in Kennington, Steve, Al, Nick and Mark from Saab Technologies, arrived on site for 08.45am for a site and health and safety induction. With a lunch break around midday, the team were able to finish off the bracing for the swing structure and prepare the ground for bark, in time for the summer play scheme.
“A good day was had by all and there was and a definite benefit from having a common goal in a more relaxed working environment away from our regular day jobs, having the satisfaction of helping people less fortunate than ourselves and hopefully making a big difference to those families’ lives for years to come. I think we all went away thinking how our lives are a lot simpler than the kids that will use the new swing set that we had helped to build”. – Mark Rowe, UKDTES Support Manager
Thank you to SAAB Group for your support and help to provide a safer player structure for children of varying disabilities.
